We hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather. As many of you may be aware, we are busy with contract negotiations with the County and are happy to report that it is progressing. It is important to know that unless you heard it directly from this email, on our website, or from myself, details on the contract are just rumor. Please make sure that you are plugged into this email and our occasional texts so that you can be informed.
Shortly, we will be releasing our political candidate endorsement list. Suffolk AME is not a Democratic or Republican organization. We believe in working with all sides and the cookie cutter rubber stamp days of the past are gone. We are a union who looks to the future. Suffolk AME will work with any elected official who believe in dignity and respect for the county workforce and all working people.
With the proposed New York State Constitutional Convention, if passed, will adversely affect all of our pensions so it is important that you, the AME member, understand why you need to vote No this November. Please see below for how you can help us get the word out. We will be releasing a new ad campaign about how our union adds to the county residents quality of life. Once again, it goes without saying, Suffolk County Works Because We Do.
